My inaugural post…I suppose I should address my motivation, my goal and my starting point.
I’ve been grappling with this completely invented line between society and the environment…or maybe it’s a division, or a space, or a conflict… At any rate, modern society seems to understand (to varying degrees) that we are inseparably connected to the environment in which we live, but our decisions and actions would often suggest otherwise.
The main goal of this blog is to explore the great divide between nature and culture and to document my own experiences bridging the gap.
Although I’m not entirely sure what form this blog will eventually take, it will be influenced by my professional experiences in Heritage Conservation and archaeology, my education in Canadian Studies and Heritage Conservation, and my personal experiences living in Ottawa.
Let the experiment begin!!
