Activity 15 is to stop buying excessively packaged food. For the most part, I like to eat whole, healthy foods, but I’ve gotten a bit lazier with my food preparation lately and our garbage and recycling is now full of wrappers. I’m hoping that the kitchen garden will help with this in the coming months, but I’m also going to start buying products based on the containers in which they come. The first thing to go is anything that comes in a large package with individually wrapped servings inside. This is likely to result in more effort in terms of meal planning, shopping and food preparation…I just hope it isn’t too much!
