This one’s a biggie – I’m starting a kitchen garden. Until late last week there was still a heavy layer of snow on the backyard – so it’s still a bit too early to get excited. Thus far I’ve purchased seeds and potting soil to start a few seedlings before the last frost (which is still a month away) and I have a sketch of where all of my plants will go.
If all goes well, I’ll have vegetables all summer and into the fall. That means less trips to the grocery store; less pesticides on our produce; less processed foods in our kitchen; less food packaging in our garbage; and more money in our back account!
